Personnel Management (Explanation)

Personnel is a broad term referring to any person assigned to an activity, whether they are paid or unpaid. You may have a mixture of paid and unpaid staff within the same event, for example ushers (who are usually unpaid) and run crew (who may be compensated). Both types of workers can be managed and scheduled in the Personnel Module.

Since the name of this field is customizable in Company Preferences >> Appearance Tab, some organizations may retain the term Personnel, while others change it to reflect their own terminology such as Volunteers, Staff, etc. The nomenclature in your database may be different, but functionally the terms are interchangeable. Throughout these help pages, the term Personnel will be used.
